Qonto and Pennylane offer several integration methods for retrieving your accounting data. Depending on your setup, you can automatically synchronize bank transactions, purchase and sales invoices, or manually export accounting entry files.
☝️ If you are an Accountant, you must have Accountant access to access your clients' files via the Qontable Space. If you don’t have this, ask your clients to invite you as an Accountant on their account. The Qonto Basic plan does not allow this invitation.
How can I automatically synchronize my data with Pennylane?
What the integration covers:
- Bank transactions: transactions and attachments transmitted with their detailed metadata (PA status, VAT, comments)
- Invoices: complete metadata (PA status, categories, reference, amount, VAT, due date, supplier or client name) — all customer invoices (paid and unpaid, excluding drafts and quotes) and all supplier invoices (from "To pay" to "Paid") — automatic synchronization every 3 hours
- Bank reconciliation: when an invoice is reconciled with a transaction in Qonto, the "Paid" status is automatically sent to Pennylane
-
Accrual accounting: invoices are transmitted upon creation (before payment), allowing you to record customer receivables and supplier payables before cash-in/cash-out — the
is_paidfield in Pennylane distinguishes paid from unpaid invoices - Payment orders: issue payments from Pennylane to settle your supplier invoices directly via your Qonto account
Plan requirements
For Qonto:

How can I manually export my invoices and transactions?
If you prefer file export rather than automatic synchronization, the procedure varies depending on your role.
Invoice export

- Choose the export type — you can include supporting documents, downloaded in a separate folder

How can I generate an accounting entry file for Pennylane?
You can use export by accounting entry file (purchases, sales, expense reports, bank) and their attachments as an alternative to automatic synchronization of invoices and transactions.
Access conditions:
- Qonto clients subscribed to the Business plan or higher: access Qonto pre-accounting to generate entry files — see the article How do I do my pre-accounting with Qonto?
- Accountants: access the client file via the Qontable Space and follow the same procedure
Go to the Ready to export tab in the Accounting menu of the file, click Export and select the Pennylane format from the dropdown list.
