With your Qonto account, you can order different types of cards.
All Qonto cards are Mastercard debit cards. Qonto also offers Mastercard deferred debit cards, subject to eligibility.
Cards can be ordered by:
- Account holders for themselves
- Admins and Managers for themselves or for a team member
How do I order my card?
From the Business account section, click on Cards then on Create a card in the top right corner, and follow these steps:
- Choose the card type that suits your needs.
- Choose the cardholder — yourself or a team member.
- Set a card name (visible on the card) and choose a PIN.
- Select a delivery address:
- The cardholder's personal address
- Your company's registered address
- A custom address
- Confirm and place your order.
☝️ If you're ordering a card for a team member who hasn't joined Qonto yet, they'll need to accept their invite, complete identity verification, and set a PIN before the card can be manufactured. Until then, the card won't be shipped.
Can I preview my card before ordering?
Before confirming your physical card order (One, Plus or X), a preview shows you exactly how the cardholder's name and your company name will appear on the card.
Why doesn't my full name appear on the card?
Payment networks (Mastercard) impose a character limit for names on cards. If your name exceeds this limit, it may be truncated. In some cases, we offer you the option to choose from several suggestions for the name that will appear on your card.
My first name contains a special character (accent, etc.) — why has it been changed?
Some special characters are not supported on cards and are automatically converted (for example é → e). If you do not want this automatic conversion, you can edit your display name.
⚠️ Non-standard name formats may trigger merchants' fraud detection systems, which can lead to verification issues or payment rejections.
How do I follow my card order?
Once ordered, you can track every step of the journey in Card Order status directly from the card in the Cards section.
Here's what the journey looks like:
| Stage | What it means |
|---|---|
| ⏳ Pending / On hold | The card is waiting for a required action (invite accepted, ID verified, PIN set) |
| 🏭 Being prepared | Your card is being prepared. Once the card order is confirmed for manufacturing, you won’t be able to update the shipping address. |
| 🚚 Shipped | The card is on its way. A tracking number appears in Card Order status once available |
| 📅 Estimated delivery | A delivery range is shown when it can be calculated - this is a range, not an exact date |
| ✅ Card received | The cardholder can confirm receipt directly in the app |
🔴 If you ordered a card for someone else: you can follow the order in Card Order status, but you will not receive a shipping notification. Only the cardholder gets the shipping email and the push notification.
A note on privacy
If you ordered a card for a team member, you will not see their personal delivery address — and you can't change it. Only the cardholder has access to their own address details.
Can I change the delivery address after ordering?
Yes but only the cardholder can do it, and only while the option is still available in the app (before manufacturing starts).
→ See Can I change the delivery address after ordering a card?
Once the card is confirmed for manufacturing, the address is locked and no one can change it, including our Customer Care team. We recommend you to wait for the delivery outcome.
Can I order a duplicate card?
Qonto does not offer duplicate cards. If you need a replacement, you'll have to order a new one.
Can I use my card immediately after ordering?
No need to wait for your card to be delivered to start using it. From the moment it is created:
- Your card can be used online, by entering its details directly on merchant websites.
- You can make in-store purchases via Apple Pay or Google Pay, without waiting for your physical card to be delivered.
