How to increase my direct debit collection limit?

  • Updated

The collection limit is the total amount you can collect by direct debit on a 8-week period. We evaluate each account’s collection limit every first day of the month to adapt to the businesses’ growth, based on specific criteria and account activity. This is influenced by multiple factors, but there are certain actions you can take that may increase it.

The primary factors influencing your collection limit are:

  • The volume of turnover (incomes, including your SDD collections) deposited into your Qonto account.
  • Qonto’s assessment of account activity and risk.

What actions could help increase my collection limit?

1. Increase your inflows on Qonto

Centralize your inflows in your Qonto account can contribute to your monthly assessment. By receiving funds regularly or collecting more payments by direct debit, this may positively impact your collection limit during the next recalculation.

2. Connect your external accounts

Linking your other business accounts to Qonto through our account aggregation feature can help our team get a comprehensive view of your finances. This additional visibility might also positively impact your limit evaluation. If so, your limit will increase in the next few minutes.

If you have already created a direct debit, you can link external accounts from your Qonto dashboard from the Incoming Direct Debits section:

  • Click on How to increase your limit?
  • Select Connect bank account.

Otherwise, please follow these steps:

  • From the Web application: Navigate to the Accounts section, select Add Account, and follow the prompts.
  • From the Mobile application: Go to your account settings and choose Connect an external account.

💡 Connecting an external account may help increase your collection limit; however, any potential adjustment will depend on the amount of funds deposited into your accounts and Qonto’s overall assessment of account activity and risk.
