You can open a Qonto account if:
You are the legal representative of the company
If you have a power of attorney and proof of identity of a legal representative
👉🏻 A legal representative is an individual or entity that has the authority to act on behalf of the corporation in legal and business matters.
How the process works
If you are a legal representative, simply follow the standard account opening flow.
Select your name if it appears on the list. If not, click “Fill in your information” to continue.
If you are not a legal representative, you can still open a Qonto account.
During onboarding, select No when asked if you are a legal representative.
We’ll then guide you through the process.
Once your account is set up, we automatically contact the legal representative to sign the Power of Attorney. They will receive an email with everything needed, and the entire process runs on our side.
Why this is needed
We need a signed Power of Attorney and a valid ID from the legal representative to confirm that the person opening the account is authorised to act on behalf of the company. Our team must receive and validate the signed document before we can fully activate the Qonto account. Until this is completed, some features remain limited, even if the account owner has already verified their identity.
